The Manitowoc County Discovery Farms Project Area (DFPA) Advisory Workgroup has the distinction of being the only Discovery Farms group in the state to work on fund-raising, education, and determining local priority areas for on-farm research. DFPA advisors have full access to research data and considerable input into program design and operation. Formed in December 2003 and sponsored by Manitowoc County government, the Workgroup is also notable for its unique partnership among agricultural, conservation and environmental interests.
