On-Farm Research ResultsDiscovery Farms conducts on-farm research on real farms throughout Wisconsin to determine the environmental effects of agricultural practices. Agriculture in Wisconsin is diverse with various crop and livestock enterprises and implementation styles, as well as locations, physical landscapes, soil types and geology. Each Core Farm or Special Project is chosen to represent a piece of Wisconsin’s diverse agriculture and their environmental challenges or opportunities to enhance natural resources. The focus of our on-farm research is to identify and implement effective environmental practices that are compatible with profitable agriculture.
